Barack Obama Church Resignation
Barack Obama has decided to resign his membership at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.The decision comes following the long list of remarks made by Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger.Obama said:
I have to say–this is one I did not see coming,” I did not anticipate my fairly conventional Christian faith being subjected to such…scrutiny.
“My faith is not contingent on the particular church I belong to and I do not believe that I am going through a religious test,”
Trinity’s senior pastor Rev. Otis Moss, said he hoped that the decision would withdraw Trinity from the spotlight.He added:
“Though we are saddened by the news, we understand that it is a personal decision,” “We will continue to lift them in prayer and wish them the best as former members of our Trinity community,”
