Kelis Acapella Video – Kelis recently shot the video for her new hit single “Acapella” in Los Angeles.
The music video, which was filmed with British director Chris Cottam and fashion photographer Rankin, conveys a tribal theme surrounded by wolves as Kelis is the last woman standing on earth, for the acclaimed DJ David Guetta produced track.
“It has a really strong, universal, tribal vibe to it. When I say that, I mean it’s no particular tribe; it’s a little bit of everything,” she told Rap-Up.com “It’s like if the world were to end and there was one woman standing, what would it be like?”
‘It’s not fashion-oriented at all. Actually, it’s the complete opposite,” she continued her explanation. “I think everything is over-fashioned up that it just becomes uninteresting, and when every artist has access to every designer and vice versa, it’s no longer exciting or fun.”
“Acapella” is set to be included in Kelis’ Flesh Tone, her fifth studio album, and is due out in June. Another song “22nd Century” was showcased at the Belvedere Music Lounge during the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
