Martin Luther King III Married And Expecting First Child



Martin Luther King III who is 50 years old will announce tonight during the Salute to Greatness dinner that he has married his girlfriend Arndrea Waters and that they are expecting a baby girl.
King III secretly wed Waters shortly after Coretta Scott King passed away in January 2006.
The baby girl who is due sometime this spring will be Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King Jr. first grand child.
Isaac Farris Jr., president and CEO of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, and a first cousin, said:

“In light of the devastating losses that our family has suffered with the passing of Aunt Coretta and Yolanda, this is great news that a grand-child of Martin Luther King is coming into the world,” “Our legacy continues.”.

The Salute to Greatness is defined as:

MLK III founded and heads Realizing the Dream, which is committed to the creation of Dr. King Jr.’s vision of a Beloved Community through programs encompass health, education, employment, housing, economic development, leadership, community capacity, conflict resolution, nonviolence and peace initiatives. He also serves on the board of directors of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the civil rights organization his father founded.
