Eva Marcille Lance Gross Split – Actor Lance Gross and model/actress Eva Marcille have ended their 3-year-long relationship just five months before their July 17th wedding.
According to Essence.com, the couple’s representatives released a joint statement confirming the amicable breakup.
“Lance Gross and Eva Marcille have mutually decided to end their relationship. The split is completely amicable,” the statement reads.
Rumors hit the blogosphere last month that the pair were having problems due to an alleged argument between the two during Super Bowl XLIV weekend in Miami.
The couple got engaged on Christmas Eve 2008, after dating for a year and a half, while vacationing with family in the San Bernardino Mountains outside of Los Angeles.
“She took full control of my heart and is the only woman that has ever made me feel that way,” Gross told Essence.com during their happier times. Ironically, Gross is starring in the recently released movie “Our Family Wedding,” which he said was like rehearsing for the couple upcoming nuptials.
“I was in love with him before we ever met. He’s my dream guy!” Marcille told Essence.com after Gross popped the question.
According to the joint statement from their reps, “both parties remain friends.”
Gross, 28, recently expressed his eagerness to attend his 10-year high school reunion in Las Vegas because it was his chance to confront the girl who stood him up at the homecoming dance.
The “Meet the Browns” star said he still hadn’t forgiven his former sweetheart and was looking forward to seeing her again.
“We were supposed to go to the homecoming dance and she stood me up. Everybody wanted to get at her because she had the biggest booty in the school, so I was the man,” he said. “Once she said yes she was going with me, I started telling everybody. But the day before she told me, ‘You know, I’m not gonna be able to go to homecoming with you.’ I’m looking forward to seeing her.”
We can only wonder if sparks were rekindled when he saw his former high school sweetheart face to face.
