Serena Williams French Open 2010 Defeat Against Samantha Stosur – Samantha Stosur was able to beat Serena Williams during the French Open. Both of the players in the world suffered losses on the same day.Samantha Stosur has been a force on the tour for quite some time but was still considered to be the underdog in her match against Serena Williams in the quarterfinals of the French Open. The final score int he match was 6-2, 6-7 (2), 8-6.

Serena’s loss was surprising, as most fans and many experts had picked her to win the tournament. Stosur was able to pound the baseline, and made a series of great shots that helped her secure her victory at the French Open.

Stosur was the 7th seed coming into the match. She was on the verge of winning in the second set but could not close the match out. Stosur said that she was a little bit nervous that she would not be able to close out the third after her poor performance at the end of the second set, but said that she was glad that she was able to pull it out.

Now Stosur will move on to play Jelena Jankovic on Thursday. Jankvic was able to take down the unseeded Yaroslava Shvedova in two sets yesterday. Williams, who has won a dozen grand slams over the course of her illustrious career is upset with the loss, saying that she could have played better. Stosur appeared to be very winded by the end of the match, but was able to keep her feet under her and deliver a victory in the match.
