Update: Fantasia has left the hospital and has returned to her Charlotte, NC mansion after a two-day hospital stay for taking few Aspirins and sleeping pills.
Fantasia Barrino Overdose: Fantasia Leaves Hospital – Fantasia Barrino’s hospitalization on Monday has been confirmed as a suicide attempt by authorities.
A caller, who is unidentified, rang 911 around 8:55pm reporting that a woman “had taken a bottle of aspirin and she’s slowly losing consciousness.” The phone call came from Barrino’s house in Glynmoor Lakes.
Various questions were asked of the caller while on the phone, and stating the the victim was ‘halfway’ awake, was still breathing and wasn’t in a violent or volatile state.
“The family tried to put her in the shower to try and keep her awake,” said the individual.
As those around her waited for an ambulance, the dispatcher ordered them to remove Barrino out of the shower.
At current, Barrino is in a stable condition in CMC-Pineville Medical Center.
In the days leading up to this suicide attempt, her name was mentioned as the mistress in a divorce petition filed by Paula Cook, a North Carolina woman. Cook accuses Barrino of having an affair with her husband, Antwaun Cook.
Barrino’s manager, Brian Dickens, has come to her defense, stating that the past few months have been extremely stressful and the weight of the world has been put on the ‘I Believe’ singer’s shoulders. With the media attention she has been getting, the accusations and attention, the stress become too much for the entertainer to bare.

This world is full of free loaders. It seems to me,the Cook family just want Fantasia’s money. It had been rumored that Mr. Cook has return to his wife. It seems as though they are parterns in crime. Fantasia you have to much to live for yourself, regardless of your mistakes . People are going to talk about you for the rest of your life. What about her daughter,what would her life have been if Fantasia was successful in her attempt to end her life. Mr. Cook you should be careful in your conduct,because the Bible says you reap what you sow. Mrs Cook the bottom line of the matter is you husband cheated on YOU. Will you attempt to sue the next woman whom he (Mr. Cook) has an affair with ,because this will happen again.
