Eddie Long Scandal – Popular Baptist Bishop Eddie Long has been sued over allegations that he coerced two unwilling men into having a sexual relationship with him. The two men, who are ages 20 and 21, claim that Long invited them on a number of international trips, and showered them in gifts while attempting to persuade them to have a sexual relationship with him.
Long is the Baptist of a church that has anywhere from 25,000 to 30,000 members, depending on who your source is. He has been featured on a number of television programs and is one of the most well-known African American bishops in the United States and across the world.
The two men claim in the lawsuit that Long abused his “spiritual authority” to convince church members to engage in sexual acts and relationships for his own personal satisfaction. Long quickly released a statement through his reps denying the claims, and saying that he was saddened by them.
“We find it unfortunate that these two young men would take this course of action,” Long said in his statement.
Since the news broke, many members of his church have stepped forward saying that they believe the allegations are false. Long has never denied that he gave the men gifts or took them on trips with him, but is denying that he had a sexual relationship of any sort with the men. Long has “categorically denied the allegations,” and will likely fight the lawsuits in order to protect his name that he has worked very hard to create.

This man has done great things throughout his spiritual career and people of GOD need to get down on their knees and pray for HEALING in the body of CHRIST!!!!!!!! I agree with what sister of the lord said. No one has the right to cast stones. None of us are perfect, not one!! all of us have fallen short of the glory of God. Until this man comes forth and confesses, or the evidence has found him accountable, pray for him, instead of bringing him down. if he is innocent, pray. If he is guilty pray harder!!

I believe that I’ve read all the comments above and I’m surprise that no one has mention prayer for Mrs. Long and the children. It’s hard on a wife to have another woman claim that she’s was intimate with her husband. But to have a man claim such a thing must be way off the charts, even if it is a lie. So please pray for Mrs. Long, even though she’s strong in the Lord, she need the body of Christ to uplift her in prayer also.

really this is SAD/ me & some co-workers were talking about this Eddie Long (not n a bad way) a couple days ago/ But the PIC i do not get u send 2 young mens what will i think 1st i dont know of any MENS of GOD that speak the words send pic on there BODY 2 young mens or young womens unless that r trying 2 get 2 know that person because if he fell like it just a pic then post the pic of yourself in the church or on the outside of the church because its just your build up body u want them 2 see so let every1 see than it wouldnt look so BAD!!!! PEOPLE STOP being deceived, GOD said it in His Word that it would be people like this in the ending days. The devil in disguise, and you have to learn and get to know GOD for yourself and not put these people on a high pedal stool. It’s clear to see and as we know the world, all about money. It’s said and very disgraceful, but GOD never sleeps. People PLEASE wake up. People feel they have money and the power and will always give in to the devil when their heart and spirit isn’t right.
Common sense tells you that they are “asking for money” because this is a civil lawsuit and the only relief you get in civil court is monetary. If you took time to read the pleading they did not ask for any specific amount, but whatever the jury deemed appropriate according to the law. Who knows what they will do with the money if awarded such.
It doesn’t take a genius to know that he was inappropriate with those pictures.

It is unfortunate that these allegations have been made. Unfortunate because if they are true we need to pray. If they are not true we need to pray. In these great United States of America under the Writ of Habeaus Corpus a man is innocent until proven guilty. In my book Eddie Long is at this time innocent, because no jury of his peers has found him guilty. If he is found guilty our position should not be judgemental. Let us love and let the rightful judge, “God all Mighty do the judging.” Pray for all who are involved! Mr. and Mrs. Long I am your sister in Christ Jesus know that their is no situation too big for God!
Let us all as children of the Most High God, members of the same family in Christ sincerely pray for the family at this time. It is time for us to prove the unity we always talk about. Judgement belongs to God.

You know we can’t juge pastor Eddie Long. The thing is this is one of the reason why people don’t believe in God, this is one of the reason that people do not attend church. People read your bible for yourself and pray and ask God to give you understanding becasue if you fellowing a man that’s flesh and do read your bible to get your on understanding then you may be into a jim jones story any way.

Personally, I believe that the allegations are true and will be proven in court. These young men have no reason to lie about homosexual encounters that they had with Long. Wake up people! Long groomed these boys and waited until they were of consensual age before having sex with them. He knew exactly what he was doing!!! As people of God we should not make quick judgments, but pray for the man of God
we don’t know if its true. These young men could be telling a lie.
Imagine what he & his family is going through right now.
Imagine how other believers must be feeling right now.

We are all humans… no one has the right to judge But God. I however have a problem when these kind of allegations come up and people begin to brand all Ministers of the Gospel. There are Many Men and Women of God who are walking upright obeying the word… and unfortunately there are men and women who act as tho they are in the light when they are not. Let us not be too quick to but this man in a category. We tend to feel sympathetic and believe the victims… but who is to say that their motives weren’t for personal gain…. God is a Just God!! Let him work this out His way !

He got caught with his pants around his ankles and now his expensive team of lawyers and spin doctors will work around the clock to protect his wealth/their paychecks. Our prayer group here in Mississauga, Ontario (Just outside Toronto) prayed for Bishop Long yesterday. Bishop Long has had a long history of promoting that first a marital relationship should be between a man and a woman and that sex is between a man and a woman. The gay agenda is to bring down these men of God that stand up for what is Biblical and what’s right. This smear campaign appears to be orchestrated for this sole purpose. As part of their campaign they tried to steal items where they could put incriminating photos and messages in them. So who are the real criminals? They were caught ‘red handed’. Who would really bend down to their level? These low lifes not only are bending over for one another and it is so sickening to try and bring down the body of Christ. We are all one the scripture says and when one part of the body hurts so does the rest. Shame on them and in the end when they stand before the throne of judgement will God say “Your name is not written, depart from me you workers of Inquity!”.

Whether these allegations by the four young men are true or not, the fact remains that Eddie Long is a “prosperity gospel” preacher and made his millions and lives an extremely lavish lifestyle through tithes given to him by his congregation.. Tithing is a complete hoax to begin with. God is not moved by your money to shower blessings upon you. First of all, the money does not go to God. It goes to the pastor. God doesn’t need money. I mean how completely ridiculous is that? You have to really be an idiot or an extremely gullible person to fall for these deceptions prosperity gospel preachers put out there. And of course, tithing appeals to the greed in people. It’s something like playing the heavenly lotto and expecting financial rewards from it. Add to that the fact that scripture has been misinterpreted and twisted around by these pastors in order to make them filthy rich. There are a hundred other better things I could give my money to rather than to these greedy ass preachers. Things that were you to contribute money to them, would really make a mark in the world and affect changes. This man was ridiculous anyway even before this scandal popped up. And since I have lived outside of this country for many years, I can tell you that outside of the United States, this man would have no credibility whatsoever and would be seen for what he is.
