Buju Banton News: Trial – Upcoming VERDICT

Buju Banton News: Trial – Upcoming VERDICT – Popular reggae star Baju Banton has been on the stand in his ongoing drug trial, denying allegations that he had attempted to buy cocaine from an undercover officer.

He is currently on trial in Florida, where the incident took place. He denied that he was attempting to buy a large amount of cocaine from the officer and instead said that at the time he was merely trying to impress him with his aspirations. He is also on trial for two counts of abetting others possessing a firearm over the course of distribution.

Banton claims that the officer was the first person to start the conversation regarding the dealing of drugs with him, during which Banton lied and said that he was making plans to deal a large amount of drugs. Banton said that he believed the individual had connections in the music industry and was attempting to impress him.

Banton said that when he was presented with the cocaine in December, he was surprised because he didn’t think that the deal was ever going to actually happen. He said that he had no idea that he was going to be caught up in the deal and had he known that he would be around the drugs he never would have gone.

Stephen Marley, the son of the music legend Bob Marley took the stand as a character witness for Banton earlier in the trial.

  3. If the report in this article is true, I can’t see how Buju could win this case. How can you think a man has musical connections by talking about illegal drugs? Buju is a veteran in the music business, don’t tell me all these years his advancements in the industry are on account of drug-talks. Basically, I am not impressed by his excuses and if the verdict is not guilty, this article is not correct in its report.

  11. Marcia – do you really believe in all that still?

There are a few books written by a nation of frightened, ignorant people. There is no real proof of any god’s existence.

Banton won’t be delivered from anything. He is stupid and ill-informed and deservedly unimportant. His spite and intolerance mark him as unfit to walk the streets.

I hope the US puts him in jug and forgets about him.
