Pastor Eddie Long Scandal To Be Addressed Sunday – Bishop Eddie Long, who has been accused of luring four teenage boys on vacations with him and attempting to convince them to engage in sexual activities, reportedly made the young boys of his church carry around a “sex self-check card” that listed their favorite scripture and at least three activities that they could be doing instead of having sex.
The lawsuits stated that Long had given the boys lavish gifts like cars and jewelry while trying to convince them to have a sexual relationship with him. Even though they were over age, the boys explained that Long used his religious standing to pressure them into engaging in the relationship.
Long also reportedly told one young man who filed suit against him that he “would be his dad” during their trip to Kenya. He had remained silent until the first two boys stepped forward and made similar claims.
Tomorrow, Long will address his church for the first time since the allegations went public. The media is looking forward to his statement and the country wants to hear what he has to say about them.
Long has denied any wrongdoing and has maintained that all of the claims against him are not true.
It will be interesting to see how members of his church react once he speaks. Almost immediately after the allegations went public, most members of his church stepped forward to speak on his behalf, saying that they had their doubts about the truthfulness of the complaints against Long.

If the allegations are true, such justified outspokeness of this Bishop has diminished biblical truth about what thus saith the Lord regarding homosexuality. If this is true, the Bishop’s actions are “hypocrisy to the Max.”

Regardless of who commits sin and falls short of the Glory of God, God’s Word stands forever. The devil may have used a high profile person of the church as his instrument to get the church to change its stand on the issue of homosexuality and lesbianism, but the church or the Body of Christ must remain deeply-rooted in what thus saith the Lord. Man shouldn’t change God’s Word to fit his lifestyle, but our lifestyles must conform to God’s Word.
Rejecting sin is not rejecting the one who commits sin. Love the sinner, but not the sin. All Christians must realize that through the way we live our lives, we can either bring people to Christ or turn them away.

Bishop Long need our prayers regardless of whether the allegations are true are not. If they are true, we as the body of Christ MUST forgive and love him through it. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. While those who are making the allegations may have a personal agenda…what has to be realised is that if these allegations are true, they are just as devastating for the accuser as they are for the accused. The accuser is being scrutinised just as much if not more, as the accused. I don’t condone any of this, but if it is true, then it needs to be exposed. If it’s not true, then God will deal with their deception. We as a people, who are members of the body of Christ, have to stop worshipping these so called anointed men of God. We elevate them to a place where they think that they are infallible. They are not. They are mere vessels being used by God to speak and translate God’s word. What happens is they begin to think more highly of themselves than they ought. A Bishop is an office. It’s not a title. He’s not Bishop Eddie Long. He is Eddie Long acting in the office of Bishop of New Birth Church. Nothing more, nothing less. I pray for his wife and children, who have to endure such humiliation. And I pray that the eyes of the understanding of his church will be opened to see the truth. God says that He will never bring us to shame. The shame here has all been brought on by the desires of man who thought that his office allowed him to do unspeakable things to these young men. What is done in the dark will be brought out in the light.

The bible is clear on what to do when people engage in a lifestyle of sin. If its true he must be cast out of the church like what God had inspired Paul to say in first Corinthians . If a person engaging in such acts is allowed to remain it cheapens the grace of God and shows we have no standards. The bible is clear, no man should be held in such esteem that one is willing to overlook wickedness. Fear GOD!!! He is mighty and worthy to be praised. No, as Christians, we must not judge because we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. However, when we are serving in a leadership position, we are held to a higher standard and “MUST” be accountable for our actions. I have issue with the following: (“IF” these allegations are true)

I’ve heard many leaders to say stop talking. People are using technology, allowing those that are authentically called and chosen by G-d to hear the voices of people, which should incline them to preach from a pure heart, and with clean hands.
Today, should be G-d’s glory shining, instead, there is robbery of the news of a scandal. Although the scandal is making the headlines and breaking news; G-d will be glorified.
There are the true authentic saints that unequivocally rush to the throne knowing that G-d is the creator and He is Able. They have listed a record for public review of the Senate Probes, Pulpit/Church building scandal’s to current. There is one thing they have failed to mentioned: There is a Breaking News Report from heaven “G-d is Watching and Listening, and He will conclude the matter in His Court.
When G-d tells me to re-enter the church building, I will do so. Adamantly, I will continue to study the bible, worship, praise and honor G-d continuously. I enjoy serving G-d, and participating in servitude, which is a joy to my soul.
I believe the L-RD is leading me to the Messianic Congregation to learn and understand the roots of the beginning. The activities in the bible generated from the east [Hebrew and Greek]. I prefer to understand the origin at this point having the presence of the Holy Ghost. The time is right, and the evidence is just about to settle of the return of the Messiah.
I am sure many were hoping today for his his flock to scatter so they could increase their membership. The power of prayer is strong and G-d will prevail. There are so many unchurched, and those that are on milk, which I am sure are extremely confused right about now. Some are glad they never walked into the church building. Ask G-d to lead you to the right congregation. But I pray for them, that G-d will keep them focused on Him, the Creator of all things. Man will be man, G-d is G-d, and He is seated on the throne in heaven.
Bishop Eddie Long is innocent until PROVEN guilty. I will not assume, nor put my mouth on him prematurely. I have enjoyed listening to his sermons on TBN. I may not agree with every thing that people say, but I study to know myself approved. Just the other day, I heard a young pastor speaking about how we should not pray saying, “If it be thy will.” I disagreed with the statement, “Who knows the mind of G-d? As long as G-d is alpha and omega, I will always praying according to the will of G-d-even when interceding or standing in the gap.
I can’t make a decision for G-d, and I can’t make G-d do anything that is not according to his purpose.

I’m still trying to get over this comment about..Did the “victims” go to the Pastor, did they address it with the Elders?? Are you serious? If the allegations are true and the “Elders” didn’t know about it, what type of spiritual leadership are we talking about here? There is no way that God is the Head of an organization and “no one” knew or knows what is really going on…Think about it. Wake up people. The first thing that people want to do is throw up the scripture about judging, but for these people that take this scripture out of context, how do you correct your children? The greatest deception that Satan has achieved thus far is to convince people that he doesn’t exist. Like Bishop said, this is just an attack by the enemy. It is like David and Goliath. I am a parent of boys, and if my children suddenly appear with cars, expensive gifts and invitation for trips to foreign lands from our Pastor, especially when the family cannot afford these things, I would have a ‘zillion questions’ for them and the Pastor. This is my problem, these guys are old enough to know right from wrong, and IF as they are saying it was wrong what the pastor allegedly did, why didn’t they speak up? what about their parents……..may I suggest keeping your judgement people…….there is a stench in the water and it reeks to high hell. All this happened and they were still attending the church, and praising God with this man who allegedly committed one of the worst crimes on earth? I DON’T THINK SO……OH! by the way for all the stupid comments about God revealing what happens in the dark, this is not about the revelation of God, the Almighty has given us the sense to recognize right from wrong, and unless it is revealed that the accusers are mentally challenged and did not understand that the Pastor’s action was against God, close your traps and use your nose, this story has an awful odor.
Sexual predators gain people’s trust and then manipulate it to get what they want to get. Does this sound familiar? Their backup when poop hits the fan is the trust that they have gained vs. the allegations. There are so many pimped out pedophile preachers that hide behind the church and no it’s not just in the Catholic church. So many people are actually blinded the preachers words, but many times their actions do not agree. How many people would go to a church where the pastor announces that he’s a pervert or that he struggles with the sin of having sex with children? None of you would. This is why these preachers live lies. It is an act that pays good money.
