Many members of the press are surprised that President Obama and his wife Michelle did not get invited to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
It is being called the wedding of the century and there is a lot of anticipation building as the preparations begin to make the event just right.
The couple said that they didn’t feel the need to invite those who are overseas because it is not an official foreign event but rather a personal gathering of family and friends.
Although President Obama was not invited, there will still be various heads of state attending the wedding which will take place on April 29th at Westminster Abbey.
One of the heads and of state that could very well be attending includes Nicolas Sarkozy who is the president of France as well as his wife Carla Bruni.
The event promises to be a lavish occasion with hundreds of people from all over the world flying in for the wedding.
The couple has expressed their excitement about it and says that they are extremely happy that the wedding has gone forward without any problems thus far and that they cannot wait to hold the actual ceremony after months of hard work and planning.
According to some experts not inviting America’s first couple to an event of this magnitude is a snub to the country.

I’m sure President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama would have to try and find time to squeeze attending Prince William’s LONG wedding into their much busy schedule anyway. How can we forget how the Obamas snubbed the British shortly after taking office? I don’t blame them for not inviting them. Obama is not accustomed to deferring the limelight to someone else anyway, and indications are, he doesn’t like to do that
I find it quite humorous actually. The cavalier way Obama treated P.M. Gordon when he visited and the after thought cheap gift he gave him, and later the Queen was embarrassing to this country. United Kingdom has always been one of our closest allies and partners and Obama seems to hold a grudge against the Bristish because of his grandfather’s torture in Kenya after he was caught spying for the Mau Mau. I probably wouldn’t be happy with them either if positions were reversed, but as President of the U.S. I feel Obama should put his personal agenda aside for the good of this country.

It’s not surprising that the Obama’s weren’t invited to the “Wedding of the Century” for th following reasons: 1.) Michelle called Williams mother, Diana, an over-sexed clothes horse and further stated that she, Michelle, was more popular than Diana ever was.
2.) Michelle Obama showed up at every major social function endeavoring to be the Queen in the lime light. In other words, just a lack of class.
3.) The Queen Mother, William’s grand mother, also has her reasons. Obama refused to bow to her but a few days later he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia and Michelle manhandled her by becoming too familiar by putting her arm around her. The Queen only shakes hands with gloves on… That is the tradition and it is still honored by the Royals.
4.)The gifts from Obama and Michelle were both tacky and in poor taste… It is all a matter of class. 5.) The Queen Mother supported Prince William in his decision due to the fact that the word is out about the lavish booze parties at the White House, the expensive vacations and state visits that cost the American tax payers millions and millions of dollars un-necessarily when the American people need the resources…
I wouldn’t invite him to my wedding either. He’s too busy kissing up to every counrty but our allies. And his gifts were insulting to boot~

Open your mind, everything is not about race. Many black people are invited, which makes the snub even more devastating.
Maybe if our president stopped insulting the queen with their every move, they would be more freely invited. So far, just a few things they’ve done is send BACK the bust of Winston Churchill, our greatest ally in time of war, give a gift of Obama’s speeches along with a player wired for the US, not England, just hugged the French leader and said he was our greatest ally. France sent the very minimum to help with our war, Britain stood shoulder to shoulder with us.
Upon greeting the Queen, most people know you do not touch her as Michelle Obama did. She wears gloves to shake hands. To hug her, etc., is an insult to royalty and is considered common.
When our president pays attention to who is REALLY our close ally and thanks them, perhaps he will not be snubbed. He bows to our enemies, who consider him weak, and insults our friends.
A president should know the rules before visiting other countries.

I believe that the First Lady made a mistake hugging the Queen…but I don’t think it was done with any harm in mind. Just very bad manners in the British eyes.
As for gifts, leaders of countries usually give ‘minor’ items to each other, check history. An ashtray is a bit odd, but then Winston Churchill gave cigars to a US dignitary. One foreign leader and his counterpart exchange baskets of fruit . Giving a player that cannot be played is not very good because it shows a lack of investigation. I’m not a world traveler but I do know that foreign countries use a different electrical system, or way of utilizing it at any rate. Recall that President Jerry Ford word above ankle high trousers to Japan on a formal visit, and President Bush (the younger) threw up all over a foreign dignitary at a State dinner. The Obamas are young and this is their first ‘tour of duty’ so to speak. I believe that President Obama is trying to do his best, he has actually implimented the programs that he said he would. Imagine, a politician that keeps campaign promises.
I believe that it is very disrespectful not to invite President Obama and Michelle to Prince William’s wedding! That is a slap in the face to America! I’m sure Michelle was trying to give The Queen a warm welcome and meant no harm or disrespect to her! Why should President Obama or Michelle kneel to the Queen? They are just as imporant as she is! I voted for Obama and I think he’s doing a great job inspite of the mess he was left with! When a repiblican won the election in the past I felt bummed out but had respect for him because he was our president who represents our country! I definitely think that this was an insult to President Obama and First Lady Michelle. What would have been the harm with inviting them? I would think out of mutual respect, they should have been included as an invited guest since he is the leader of our country. Whether the American people choose to accept it or not, he is the Commander of this country and deserves the admiration and respect as previous presidents.
If people would start looking at him as a leader and person instead of the color of his skin, the world would be more unified. People tend to forget that he is bi-racial and not all Black!!!!!!
Recently, there was an article in which the Prince stated that he was considering not inviting the President and First Lady. Per sources, the Prince thought that Mrs. Obama was a bit of a media hog and he claimed that he wanted the ensure that the world’s attention needed to remain on Kate since it will be her wedding day.
And, while this is admirable, there appears to be larger issues at play here. I still feel that to not invite the President and the First Lady of the United States is just wrong. To not be invited to this wedding definitely *is* a snub.
That is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo rude. I have lost all respect for the royals. Lets hope he never asks anything of the USA because myself I would tell them that they are disrespecting the whole country. I feel………………………….I will leave it at that .
Respect is EARNED, not just given, I can see why the young couple chose not to invite every head of state, including President Obama and his wife. If you make promises to become a president, you should keep them, before you visit another country all you have to do is simply use the internet, which I am sure is available to the President to learn how to handle oneself while in the country of another, there’s proably staff that would gladly tell them that were they to ask. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin, our blood is all the same, it has to do with his respect for others, or lack of. Just guessing since I of course have met neither the president nor his family. Only saw what he promised on tv before he was elected and have seen what he has done after election. Big difference. SADLY. Sorry Mr. President if not being invited offended you. But it’s really not that important in the scheme of things.
