Lakers vs Heat 2010: 80-96

This evening we watched a very special NBA match where the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Miami Heat at the Staples Center (in-front of 18,997 people) in a Christmas day brawl that will be remembered – by Californians.

The new “Beach Boys” composed of Heat players LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade proved once and for all that they are more than able to build a winning team.

Miami massacred and gave Los Angeles a real lesson in team and individual basketball playing with an impressive 80-96 victory.

The former Cleveland Cavaliers player was the man of the hour because he managed to outshine the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant and Spanish power forward Pau Gasol.

LeBron carried the Heat to a remarkable victory with 27 points, including a new individual record so far this season – he scored five three-pointers, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Chris Bosh contributed to the win with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite having an injured left knee Dwyane Wade was able to finish with 18 points and was the third highest scorer for the Heat – additionally he contributed six assists and five rebounds.

Mario Chalmers scored 13 points to be the fourth player on the team.

Carlos Arroyo, who played only 19 minutes contributed two points.

The victory gave the Heat (23-9) their fourteenth win in the last 15 games they have played, the second best record in the Eastern Conference, but better than the Lakers (21-9), who have lost four games at home at the Staples Center (10-4).

Kobe Bryant who was booed by the fans finished with 17 points (6-16), seven assists and six rebounds.

Gasol played 37 minutes and scored 17 points with eight rebounds.

80 – Los Angeles Lakers (14 +24 +26 +16): Bryant (17), Fisher (6), Gasol (17), Artest (8), Odom (14)-starting five-, Barnes (2), Blake (-), Walton (-), Brown (10), Bynum (6).

96 – Miami Heat (20 +27 +28 +21): Arroyo (2), Wade (18), Ilgauskas (6), Bosh (24), James (27)-starting five-, Howard (1), Dampier ( 2), Miller (-), Jones (3), Anthony (-) and Chalmers (13).

The Lakers will be taking on the Spurs in San Antonio on Tuesday.
