Lawrence Taylor Guilty Plea

Lawrence Taylor was a 10-time Pro-Bowl selection in the NFL. He spent his entire career, which lasted from 1981-1993, with the New York Giants. The Hall of Famer is considered to be one of the best to ever play in the NFL. However, despite Taylor’s impact on the NFL, he is widely known for his drug use.

Taylor admitted to using cocaine as early as his rookie season. He really became acquainted with the drug after his retirement, being arrested twice in a three-year span for trying to buy cocaine from undercover police officers. He admitted to routinely using his teammates’ urine to pass NFL drug tests.

Taylor seemed like he was cleaning up his act in the past few years. Yet, on Thursday, the former outside linebacker pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors. He is also expected to be sentenced to six years probation with a sex-offender status.

The 51-year-old Taylor had paid $300 dollars to a 16-year-old girl for unspecified sexual acts. He was arrested in New York, in a Rockland County Hotel where the “acts” occurred. Taylor’s attorney, Arthur Aidala, stated that the girl had lied to Taylor about her age. Taylor will also be fined $2,000.
