Keenen Upson Charged In Brooklyn High School Basketball Game Shooting

According to reports that the man charged with shooting five teenagers outside of a high school basketball game just nine days ago has been identified as one Keenen Upson of Fort Greene.

Upson was arrested by police at his residence Saturday morning, January 22 according to his mother.

The same woman states that police revealed that her son was the shooter but she now feels confuse and she’s seeking legal counsel. She said:

“They’re saying he shot those kids.I don’t know what’s happening yet. I think I need to talk to my lawyer.”


Keenen Upson has been charged with multiple counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon regarding the shooting spree near the Bishop Loughlin Memorial located at the Greene and Vanderbilt Avenues according to the police.

One teen that was wounded in the shooting a Justin Dolcy, 19, recounted to the Daily News that the perpetrator apparently was after his expensive Louis Vuitton hat. He and the other teens that were wounded suffered wounds in their extremities and hips according to police.

All were reported treated for their injuries as the Kings County Hospital and then released.

The January 14 incident was apparently captured on surveillance video showing the victims as the gunman delivered the gunshots.
