Michael Jackson Statue: New Mohamed Al Fayed Controversy

It has been a though week for “Michael Jackson”as the late superstar has been in the news three times already but in this instance the pop star’s image arrives in the form of a statue that has been placed in front of a soccer stadium in London by Fulham FC owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

MJ won’t rest as he’s now going into the Elvis mode of postmortem phase of fame as marketers, fans, and media just can’t wait for the latest tidbits about the star’s life or the lives of the people who were part of his life.

This past week MJ came into the news when two of his children, Paris and Prince Michael II aka Blanket, were photographed while out shopping with their aunt, singer LaToya Jackson. The public was happy to see those kids having grown fast since MJ’s passing. In addition, the Jackson Clan got hot under the collar when an American Idol contestant made a joke about a “Pepsi Moment” referring to an incident in 1984 where Michael Jackson was severely burned while doing a dance scene in a TV commercial for the software giant.

Now we see a statue unveiled of the singer and if this new attention to the singer continues it will probably turn into a cottage industry.
