Anna Wintour:Gabourey Sidibe Too Fat For Vogue

Anna Wintour:Gabourey Sidibe Too Fat For Vogue – Gabourey Sidibe, whose weight has been the center of attention since her breakout role in the movie “Precious,” is said to be too big for Vogue.
According to a PopEater source, Sidibe’s weight is what’s keeping her from appearing on the pages of Anna Wintour’s magazine, where being thin is a prerequisite.
The editors of Vogue magazine reportedly rejected the idea of letting Oscar nominee Gabby Sidibe grace its fashionable publication because of her size.
“She’s a joke in the fashion community. What she wore on the red carpet at the Academy Awards wasn’t a dress, it was a tent,” said the source. “Vogue is a venue where designers debut their best new pieces. All are of which are one of a kind and sample size. It would be impossible to get a regular-sized girl in those clothes, let alone Gabby,” explained the unnamed fashion source.

In an outtake from her 2009 60 Minutes interview, Vogue editor Anna Wintour said, “I can only kindly describe most of the people that I saw as little houses,” referring to the obese residents of Minnesota.
Meanwhile, famed workout expert Susan Powter took to YouTube to warn the plus-sized actress about her weight, in a two-minute rant that expressed her concern for Gabby’s health.
“Let me tell you something, Gabby, because Gabby’s the only one who matters here, your weight is going to affect everything in your life – from every breath you take, because a human body carrying that much fat is under the burden,” she explains in the video.
“Your weight, child, is going to affect every moment of your day, certainly your career. You are in an industry where you’re going to be judged microscopically,” the “Stop the Insanity” guru adds.
“Judged by her weight? Totally and absolutely. You ain’t going to change that. But can we at least stop denying that it’s real? Gabby, dear, here’s the thing: You are way too young, way too young to be this diseased. Diseased. Not comfortable. Not connected with your body. You can be fat and anything you would like to be, but your chances are less in many industries in much of the world because we live in a world that judges that,” Powter’s speech went on.
The video ended with “to be cont.,” so expect to hear more from Susan Powter.

  1. Did you notice most people in the world are not sample size. You industry people should learn how to accept the world for what it really is. Gabourey Sidibe weight is just keeping it real not fake. Look around you, most mature people would not like that unhappy way of living where you have to please others all the time. People like you are treating her just like the role she played in precious, she was abused and rejected. Well, listen to you so call adults she is still young and learning. What about you.

  2. I can tell an overweight woman wrote that comment

They’re not criticizing her for not being “sample size”. They’re saying that her weight is UNHEALTHY. Looking at her, there is absolutely no way you can defend or justify her obesity as normal and acceptable. It is NOT. It is extremely unhealthy. And it is a death sentence, because people that big don’t live for very long. I’ve noticed that you hardly ever see obsese senior citizens…hmmm, wonder why…

  3. True. However, Gabourey’s obesity is a reflection of the society she comes from. The truth is, there are more girls Gabourey-sized than there are Anna Wintour-sized. Neither of which are healthy mediums for weight, anyway. I personally find Vogue to be just as much of a joke as the would-be models they reject. The superficiality of the fashion world isn’t going anywhere, sadly, but to be so self assuredly clinical about their interpretation of another person’s body is infuriating. It’s unbelieveably hypocritical than Anna Wintour has the nerve to criticize ANYBODY for abusing their body.

  4. Garbourey Sidibe Too Fat For Vogue? Vogue and Wintour are not big enough for Gabourey!

  5. Anna Wintour’s too OLD to speak for anybody. That mag hag has been in her position too long – all the other editors her age have either retired or died. Even a facelift won’t help.

  6. Most people nowadays wouldn’t think of berating a black actress for her skin colour, but they’re quite comfortable doing so publically over her weight.

  7. IT IS SO DAM SAD THAT BEING IN YOUR FIELD AS A PROFESSIONAL MAGAZINE BUSINESS YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO SAY BUT TO TALK ABOUT A YOUNG BLACK WOMAN THAT HAS WEIGHT ON HER. SO FUC**NG WHAT. SHE’S MAKING IT IN THE BUSINESS SO GET OVER IT AND FIND SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ELSE TO TALK ABOUT FOR INSTANT KRISTY ALLEN BIG A*S. I THINK GABOUREY IS A PRETTY YOUNG LADY WITH OR WITHOUT THE WEIGHT. HER WEIGHT CAN’T BE SUCH A BIG A*S PROBLEM SHE ROLLING IN THE HOT SAUCE. SO GO GABOUREY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND KEEP HOLDING YOUR HEAD UP HIGH AS IT WILL GO.

  8. hey lets put up a role model that is hinging on the verge of death and morbidly obese! i hate fat people complaining. its a fashion magazine for christs sake! why would someone who has obviously done her best to ignore what people think of her and whats in style even want to be in a fashion magazine in the first place?! she has completely given up on herself and her looks – cant have both sorry to say. eat yourself to death OR be ‘fashionable’. not both. sorry – anyone that doesnt believe this shouldnt be reading vogue anyway. there are plenty of other avenues for artists, musicians, etc. that are more well suited to her. plenty of other ‘media’ out there.

i hope this girl gets some self esteem and allows herself to lose weight and be healthy and beautiful the way she was intended to be. i pray for her.
