Joel Osteen & T.D. Jakes Together

Joel Osteen & T.D. Jakes Together – Joel Osteen, who is the senior pastor at Lakewood church in Houston, Texas, invited Bishop T.D. Jakes to preach at his church. The two of them have reportedly known each other for a long time, but have never been all that close to one another. The invitation comes as a bit of a surprise, as the two of them have very different styles of preaching, but is one that the community has embraced.

“I have always loved him from afar and prayed for him, as he rose to the office of assuming his father’s mantle,” said Jakes of Osteen. He went on to say that he had watched his career unfold from a distance and that he had always prayed for him since he was a little kid.

The two first started talking after Jakes called Osteen to ask him about hosting a men’s conference. It was then that the two men decided to join forces and preach at each other’s churches.
“But we’ve known Bishop Jakes from afar and thought it would be a great thing for him to come down and share with our people,” Osteen said.

The duo has a lot in common with one another. Both are television-preachers that reach millions of people each and every day. They both have also released best-selling religious books and movies that continue to perform well.

It will be interesting to hear Jakes speak at Osteen’s church. Perhaps this initial collaboration will lead to more collaborations in the future.

  1. It is time, we learn how to love the brethren! How can a caucasian understand the heart of African-American, when they have been raised different, learned life in totally different diversities—how can anyone truly understand someone unless they walked in their shoes? —Except—-we begin to dialogue up close and not from distance! The African-American community offers so much to our society especially in the Kingdom of Jesus! We all need to learn to appreciate our unique heritages and legacies. One of the greatest lover of all races was Joel’s dad, John Osteen! He embraced the African-American community and so did they him! I am so so proud of both of these preachers, who realize we need one another. It is time to listen to one another and be grateful for Jesus in the people. We need to not judge and critique our brethren, when God just makes us all differrent and unique! We must remember—We belong to the family of God, no matter what! Pastor Kennedy from Vietnam….

  2. Two big ego’s collide, one is always positive and never preaches against anything another one talks like he is a god and I have no confidence in either one telling me the truth for my soul.

  3. Preach the word Bishop Teach word Pastor Osteen. God word is still God’s word no matter who delivers it. Awesome duo!
