Rihanna On Matt Kemp And Chris Brown In Marie Claire – Rihanna looking radiant with her raid hair, in a Mark Fast dress and Solange Azagury-Partridge earrings is the cover girl of the December 2010 issue of the British edition of Marie Claire magazine.
In the magazine which hit newsstands on October 28 there is a lengthy interview where Rihanna talked about her relationship with Chris Brown, and confided about the abuse she suffered.
And she eventually opened up about the new love of her life Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star Matt Kemp.
On the domestic violence she experienced during her relationship with Chris Brown in 2009,the 22 year old singer revealed:
“One day, I remember I was in New York at the Trump Hotel and I woke up and I just knew I was over it,” “I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that’s what God was giving to me. All [of] this terrible stuff they say to you, it breaks you down.
She went on to tell the mag:
“[But] once you’re back on your feet – if you ever make it back on your feet – that’s the ultimate achievement,”
Today, the singer is preparing to move in with her baseball player Matt Kemper, and added that she feels much better since she met him. She revealed:
“I feel like I smile for real this time.The smiles come from inside, and it exudes in everything I do. People feel my energy is different. When I smile they can tell that it’s pure bliss and not just a cover up.”
Gushing on her great happiness with Matt Kemp, she went on to say:
“The most important thing is to be happy and true to yourself. I don’t want to look back at this 30 years from now and say, ‘I did it all to make them happy and I didn’t enjoy.I want to be able to say people loved me because of who I am.”
The Barbadian has been very busy as of lately, she is about to release a new album called “Loud,” and is currently promoting a book written about her previous record.
The book, simply entitled Rihanna was put together with the help of her stylist Simon Henwood – the man responsible for all the dark and sexy imagery related to her “Rated R” CD and the tour called “The Last Girl On Earth.”
She will be performing on SNL this weekend and at the upcoming MTV European Music Awards in Madrid, November 7.

These responses are so pathetic. Domestic violence is not a joke regardless of who is affected by it. Celebrities are no less deserving of security than ordinary people, why show blunt partiality? If anyone can do better it’s obviously Rihanna. The problem in society today is that people say “get over it, it was the past” and for this very reason the past keeps replaying like a broken record, because we never stop to learn from our mistakes.

That being said, domestic abuse is not something that you could just get over and forget. And just because someone is “cute” doesn’t give them the right to physically abuse someone and degrade them. After reading these comments, I lost all faith in my generation. You people make me sick.

If there would have just been a break-up… This story or the “incident” would not still be milked for publicity… They both KNEW this break up was about to occur and instead of bowing out gracefully being the jilted girlfriend…. Okay.. people, people, people. Being hit or hurt is never okay. She’s talking about it because they have asked about it. If that was you who was hit, don’t you think you would still talk about it? I mean, it’s probably something that she thinks about every day of her life and it’s going to take time for her to think about it less.
