Floyd Mayweather who is known these days for getting in trouble with police has been arrested in Las Vegas just hours after a judge officially signed a bench warrant for his arrest.
Mayweather became wanted by police on Thursday due to a criminal battery charge that was filed against him for an alleged dispute he had with a security guard in a parking lot back in November.
He apparently hit the man in the face when the argument began to escalate to the point of seriously injuring the individual.
The case is back in court after the prosecutors who are filing charges against him said that he has been getting special treatment because of his celebrity status which resulted in the judge signing the warrant for his arrest.
After a bodyguard at the club recognized him he let the authorities know he was in the area and that was apparently what sparked the argument and prompted the boxer to hit the guard.
As of now the boxer is still being held by police and if he is convicted he could face a sentence of up to six month in jail along with a $1,000 fine, although nothing is for certain as of right now.
