50 Cent Freelancers Movie Role

In a change of character sure to shock his fans and the public alike, rap star 50 Cent is due to portray a rogue cop the the new drama “Freelancers”.

50 Cent whose real name is Curtis Jackson will play the son of a NYPD officer who was slain and he takes his father’s place on a vice crime task force unit where he discovers he’s now a member of a rogue group of Gotham cops.

The movie is scheduled to start filming around the end of March in Michigan according to Variety magazine.

The movie will be directed by Jessy Terrero who directed the movie “Soul Plane. Terrero had previously worked with 50 Cent on the movie “Gun” as well as his video projects “The Massacre: Special Edition and “50 Cent The New Breed”.

This will be 50 Cent’s 13th movie and it’s part of a 10 picture deal with the Lions Gate company under 50 Cent’s Cheetah Vision imprint.

Many other rappers who are part of the gangsta rap genre have gone on to play cops and even government agents such as Ice T, Ice Cube, and more.
