South Side of Chicago Boy 12, Shot: Drama Started On Facebook

The South Side of Chicago is where a 12 year old boy has been shot in the back and lies in critical condition after reportedly having been in an argument on Facebook.

The boy was reportedly shot by a 14 year old at the Cook Elementary School around 2:45pm on Wednesday. The suspect is in custody after he turned himself in at the police station and the officers are questioning him.

The crowded area where the shooting took place afforded many witnesses to be able to identify the gunman. He is said to be from a rival gang who had come to blows with the 12 year old.

The boy is now fighting for his life in the hospital after being treated for his wounds.

This story is not about Facebook, it’s about kids in gangs being violent and how they have so little regard for the safety of others. Had it not been Facebook it would have been some other form of communication these kids would have used to engage in such hostilities.

Kids with guns and gang violence has gone unattended by American authorities for decades and now with the use of the new computing venues these criminals are going high tech.

  1. I do not believe this drama started on facebook. Facebook was just a communication spot, for the incident to take place. This incident is gang related among the youth, I feel that the Chicago police needs to step up their beat and put a stop to this madness.

These young kids should be thinking about finishing school and going on to college, so that they will be able to make a better life for themselves besides the streets. Chicago stopped Al Capone, now Chicago needs to stop the street gangs , PUT THE TAX DOLLARS TO WORK CLEAN UP CHICAGO.
