Mariah Carey arrives at Hotel Georges V in Paris, France, earlier today.Carey will make music history on Wednesday with her single “Touch My Body” that is expected to top the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart .Carey will become the singer with the most #1 hits ever with 18 number ones,and therefore taking the top spot from Elvis Presley.
People people, you should do your homework a lot better. Mariah Carey is one of the greatest singers ever but she’s not the artist with the most US #1 hits. Whatever happened to the countings of Elvis Presley I really don’t know but he had more than 17 US #1 hits. These were hits that hit #1 for Elvis;

That’s really 18 to me. And besides that’s only pop charts, he had several #1 hits in the adult & country charts. Another thing is that Mariah’s “Touch My Body” is pushed to #1 due to ringtone release, something which never happened with any of the Elvis #1 hits. At last countings of Elvis sales’ in the 50’s & 60’s are not completely correct so probably all of his #2 hits would have become #1.
Anyway, Mariah is a great singer, but the real master of hits is Elvis Presley.

Actually loverboy, Mariah has had the most #1 songs in the pop genre. Randy Travis has had 22 number one hits, so there has been an artist with more number one hits, juts not in pop music.
