Aretha Franklin Wants Halle Berry In Bio Movie

Aretha Franklin Wants Halle Berry In Bio Movie – Aretha Franklin thinks that Halle Berry should portray her in a film. She said that she thought that berry would be excellent for playing a younger version of her, even though it is not clear if Berry is actually all that great of a singer or not. Franklin also named a number of others stars that she would like to see in a film about her life. She named Denzel Washington as a potential suitor for the role of her father, CL Franklin.

She has also said that she would like to see Terrence Howard and Smokey Robinson appear in the film. Franklin will reportedly be looking over a possible script for a movie about her life next week, and is already hard at working trying to recruit actors and actresses for the upcoming film. Some experts have speculated that she set her sights too high with her current wish list, as it would be hard to find a budget for all of those high profile stars.

Franklin also said that she is only interested in actors who are enthusiastic about the project. If you are not on board with her plans, she would rather see you appear in a movie that you have more conviction for. Franklin has reportedly had a number of face to face with Terrence Howard, and has said that he seems very interested in taking part in the project. It would be interesting to see what role Howard would play in a biopic about Aretha Franklin.

  1. Aretha should be ashame. She has never in her whole life been as thin or had the particular look that Halle has. Now she is a pretty woman but what about Jennifer Hudson…. or Tacarra.
Halle played Dorthy Dandridge flawlessly… but the look for Aretha will NOT work.

    She should reconsider this choice.

  2. You are absolutely correct. Ms. Aretha needs to get it together with this movie. Yes she is a beautiful lady in her own way; but to ask Halle to play her is ridicules. Jennifer Hudson would be perfect even Fantasia, but Halle no, no, no Ms. Ree, pick again before the movie is dumped. Besides at the end of the movie Halle would not be able to wear that big person suit. I heard they are pretty heavy. Come on Ree pick Jennifer, she is a good fit.

  3. My opinion is Janet Jackson or Jill Scott (after she lose a little mor weight). They
would look a little more like Aretha, and both of them have stage presence and both of them can sign. I don’t know hardly anybody that Halle could portray, but she did do a good job as Dorothy Dandridge. Janet seems a good size to play Aretha. She’s busty, and nice looking. I guess we are all guilty of not knowing what we really look like.

  4. You all may be just a little too young to remember “young Aretha”. If so, please go back and research cause she was pencil thin. We all agree that Aretha and Halle are beautiful.

I believe that Halle would do the movie justice, especially if she lip synch. I believe if she could blow like the Queen, we would have heard by now. So, in my opinion, Halle is definitely the one.

  5. I agree Nikki young Aretha was actually smaller than Halle. Come on people, do the research before you comment. I don’t know about Halle’s singing skills but I do know she’s at the top of Actors. I think she would be an excellent choice to play young Aretha.

  6. I agree with Nikki. Remember- it is not about singing but acting. Truth be told, Aretha was just as slim and beautiful as Halle when she was younger. Those who never knew Aretha don’t know “Who’s zooming who”!

  7. I love the queen of soul cant wait to see the bio movie , But I think her jealousy of younger upcoming singers like Fantasia who has the voice more identical to hers than any other singer is keeping her from choosing an actual singer, why would you choose someone who cant sing at all. She was lying in the chair at her recognition show on bet where fantasia and jennifer sang their hearts out for her and she showed no emotion at all, looking like Ursula from the little mermaid,
acting as if her bio unlike any other bio movie is going to make a trillion dollars, come on black people nothing wrong with being humbled after all its what got you where you are.

  8. I think the queen of rap should play the queen of soul. QUEEN LATIFAH as Queen Aretha. Both women are beautiful, both can sing, both appear to have a spicy attitude. I will be anxiously waiting for the movie regardless..ALL THE BEST TO YOU ARETHA!

  9. i think halle berry should play mrs franklin, you all don’t remember mrs franklin in young years that lady was a fox and still is if she dress more better and why hate on someone you even know…..yes i think halle berry should play mrs franklin.

  10. carrie mae you sound real stupid talking about jill scott she is one of the most pretty black woman you what to see…..we as black folks only see color, just because halle berry got a white mom she better than jill scott and there nowhere to read about mrs frankin hating on fantasia , stop been so dumb people…

  11. thank you dee and nikki these little kids don’t know mrs. franklin like we do she was a sexy thing back in the day….she still pretty to me.

  12. I have heard you all mention numerous black women that will be excellent for the part of Aretha. However guys, have you all forgot about Jazmine Sullivan……I think she will be perfect for the role. She is beautiful, foxy, spunky and everytime she opens her mouth to sing-she commands attention If you listen to the lyrics in her songs in combination with her voice there is no doubt that she puts you in the mind of Aretha Franklin. I think the lucky person who wins this rolle will need more than acting and singing skills. Most importantly, this lucky person will have to bring real life experience to the table. In order to play Aretha you will have to know what pain feels like…real pain.

  13. please please iam 57 and give ms ree all do respect that is do one of the coldest !!!!!!!! in this world . you will never find another. igrew up to Respect at 12 years with my mother. also Easter phillips cold! cold! lady thats old school.fat or skinny i love her thats my No1 for life.Irember Ms Ree poformed mcormick place we went back stage got ready to leave who was in the door but MsRee i couldnt even say a word as much as i love.

  14. Areatha Franklin: She was fantastic and I think Ms. Franklin will have the last word. The person to do the bio should have the stage presence, ability to study, act the part and sing. Ms. Franklin broke the mold, that’s why they called her “The Lady of Soul” The person who gets the chance to do the bio has their work cut out and I wish them luck.

  15. Cheryl She’s called “The Queen of Soul” sweetie! It’s all good though we know what you meant. I just wanted you to know the correct since you’re a great fan of her’s.
